Meet the Illinois Teacher Recertification requirements
Create a Professional Development Plan that reflects best-practices and is aligned with personal goals as well as state and national standards. Become highly qualified and fulfill No Child Left Behind requirements with Saint Xavier University's courses that prepare you for the Illinois Certification Testing System (ICTS). These courses provide a well-rounded, in-depth understanding of a specific topic area or teaching. Your plan must total the equivalent of 120 Continuing Professional Development Units (CPDUs) and may be completed by any combination of the following:
- Successfully complete 8 semester hours of coursework from an accredited university OR
- Successfully complete 24 CEUs; one unit equals 5 clock/contact hours OR
- Successfully complete 120 CPDUs; one semester hour credit equals 15 CPDUs (Earn 15–45 CPDUs per course.)
To earn graduate credit, you must attend the required hours, actively participate, and complete course assignments for a grade.
To earn CEUs/CPDUs, you must attend the required amount of hours and actively participate in the class.
